Uchqun Osarov’s “Through the Wringer” is a satirical comedy that shows the problems of modern life, human relationships and all kinds of everyday situations with humour.
The story centres on Aunt Robiya, a lively and wise woman who lives in a block of flats, and her granddaughter Nilufar. Nilufar knows nothing of the real intentions of her fiancé, Qosim, until his greed for money is exposed. At the same time, Golib the plumber gets mixed up in the family’s life by chance, which brings problems of its own.
With life-affirming humour and lively dialogue, the play explores sincerity and self-interest, love and trust in human relationships. Misunderstandings and unexpected twists between the characters create dynamic and entertaining scenes.
